More than 200 students from sixth grade through high school attended O’Keefe Drilling Co.’s first Build Montana Pop-Up event on September 17 in Butte, Montana.

O’Keefe Drilling showcased its DR24, sonic rig, and pump trucks alongside Montana Contractors Association (MCA) members who do business right in the Butte area.

“Seeing these kids get up close to the equipment, ask questions, and explore the possibilities of a future in the trades is what this is all about!” says Jaclyn Giop, accountant, office manager, and controller at O’Keefe Drilling and president of the Montana Contractors Association and vice president of the Montana Water Well Drillers Association.

“A huge thank you to our fellow MCA members, participating schools, and everyone who helped make the day possible. The future of our industry starts with opportunities like these!”

Giop is a recipient of a 2026 NGWA Fellow Designation and will receive recognition at Groundwater Week 2026, December 8-10 in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is co-locating with the Irrigation Association.
