It may be one of the common responses, but it’s that there are fewer and fewer younger groups of workers in the industry. There are many reasons, I’m sure, but it is clear the younger generations are bypassing a fascinating and exciting future.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE LATEST ADVANCEMENTS IN PUMP TECHNOLOGY?
ECM and permanent magnet motors are very interesting, with the high efficiency and lower power consumption. The potential will be very interesting.
GREATEST CHALLENGE FACING MANUFACTURERS OF PUMP SYSTEMS?
There are a multitude of problems that manufacturers deal with throughout the year. If just picking one out, I’d say the necessary face-to-face conversations with our customers and developing those relationships.
WHAT DID IT MEAN TO EARN THE 2020 NGWA MANUFACTURERS SECTION SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD?
I was a little shocked. After that I thought of a lot of memories and moments that got me to where I am. It is a pretty humbling award—based on previous winners and their accomplishments—guys who are a credit to all of us with a lot of years of knowledge from all aspects of the water well industry.
