MOST SATISFYING PART OF YOUR JOB?
When using a pitless booster to give customers improved pressure. An example was a booster we installed in Connecticut that after 30 years of a woman living with terrible pressure, and in one afternoon her water experience was completely changed!

WHAT ARE YOU HEARING MOST FROM YOUR CUSTOMERS?
In my experiences with our Pitless Booster customers, one of the best bits of feedback I get is that for such a simple concept the result of a quieter, more secure pumping station is a world of improvement from older systems that we are upgrading.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE LATEST ADVANCEMENTS IN PUMP TECHNOLOGY?
I think that the newer technologies are very encouraging. Seeing improved efficiencies in the pumps, but more specifically the motors giving better system performance, improved longevity, and lower cost of ownership.

GREATEST CHALLENGE FACING MANUFACTURERS OF PUMP SYSTEMS?
From what we have been seeing and experiencing at Baker, it is a brain drain with lack of fresh blood taking up the ranks—the older generations retiring and leaving a sizable gap in the experience level and how to overcome that.

TOP TIP FOR CONTRACTORS ON BOOSTER PUMPS?
With the Baker Pitless Booster system, flexibility is key. If the current demand is smaller, the systems can easily be designed for the current need and allow for future expandability while keeping the initial investment costs down and providing room for growth.

BEST ADVICE YOU EVER RECEIVED?
Always be willing to try something new. New technology, new experiences, and new friends make the world better.
