THE BEST ADVICE YOU EVER RECEIVED?
Never ask your employees to do anything you wouldn’t do yourself or haven’t done in the past.

HOW CAN DRILLING COMPANIES RECRUIT THE NEXT GENERATION OF WORKERS?
Being patient with people is the key to success. I believe most employees can do this job if you create an atmosphere that is fun and rewarding. Our line of work can be very difficult and challenging at times, but with a good attitude and proper training, they can be successful.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCES FOR WATER SYSTEM PUMPS?
Relying on the manufacturers, dealers, and publications to guide us on proper sizing and troubleshooting problems. Also, our family has been in this business for 112 years and the wealth of knowledge that has been compiled over the years is priceless.

UNDERSTANDING THE LATEST IN PUMP SYSTEMS MEANS . . .
Keeping up with the latest technology by keeping an open line of communication with the manufacturers and dealers and also by attending national conventions and workshops that are available.

WHICH SKILLS WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARPEN IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS?
My computer skills are weak, and it would be good to gain a better understanding of an inventory computer-based system.

WHAT IS THE MOST SATISFYING PART OF YOUR JOB?
The comradery with my employees and the satisfaction of completing challenging jobs.

WHAT IS THE MOST DIFFICULT HURDLE REGARDING PUMP WORK?
The time and material. 2021 was very busy for our family business. I always think about how much more we could accomplish, if only there was more time in a day. One of the biggest hurdles in 2021 without a doubt was the price increases and material shortages.
