THE BEST ADVICE I EVER GOT?
You can either get advice spoken or through watching the actions of others. Growing up, I would watch my dad get up every day and go to work to provide for his family. He was a military man who worked up the ranks in his career and retired a lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard.
ON MY DESK RIGHT NOW?
I have some projects in front of me. A few wells have been drilled we are designing pump systems for. We also have some water reports that just came in and I am sizing treatment systems for them.
WHEN I WANT TO UNWIND . . .
In my spare time I enjoy martial arts. But by far spending time with my wife and our two children is the most enjoyable.
MOST IMPORTANT CHALLENGE FACING GROUNDWATER PROFESSIONALS?
People want to know more about their water and how it’s being tested and treated before it reaches their taps.
UNDERSTANDING THE LATEST IN PUMP SYSTEMS MEANS . . .
We tell our customers it’s wise to have their well inspected every two years. During an inspection we perform a test on the mechanics of the pump and treatment system, do a visual inspection on the wellhead, and suggest a water test for bacteria.
THE MOST DIFFICULT HURDLE REGARDING PUMP WORK?
Handling multiple emergency calls all at once is a difficult thing to do. When you get that call at 6 a.m., you know the homeowner is in a desperate situation. We always try to accommodate those by moving our schedule around.
YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCES FOR WATER SYSTEM PUMPS?
NGWA by far is the greatest resource for education on groundwater technology.
