HOW HAVE DASH CAMS HELPED IMPROVE DRIVERS’ HABITS?
Dash cams create instant accountability. Most of us check our speed, sit up straighter, and focus more when we see a police car nearby. I feel like having a dash camera has a similar effect. Drivers become more aware of speed, distance, and distractions, leading to safer, more consistent driving.

MOST OVERLOOKED DOT REGULATION BY THE INDUSTRY?
Hours of Service regulations are easy to take for granted, yet they’re one of the most common areas where people feel tempted to push the limits. It’s essential to remain fully compliant with HOS rules to ensure safety, avoid violations, and maintain responsible operations.

TOP SUGGESTIONS TO HELP SAFETY TAILGATE TALKS BE MORE ENGAGING?
Getting everyone involved makes tailgate talks stronger. Even having a new hire lead the discussion helps build confidence, encourages leadership, and brings out different viewpoints. It also gives every crew member a chance to contribute and feel like they’re part of the team.

HOW DO YOU PRIORITIZE LEARNING FROM SAFETY SUCCESS ON PAST JOBS?
We study what worked and share those successes across crews, building them into training and daily habits. Showing how safe work leads to better clients, easier jobs, and more profitable opportunities keeps crews bought in. When teams see safety improve both workload and earnings, consistency naturally follows.

MOST COMMON SAFETY MISTAKE YOU’RE SEEING?
Losing situational awareness. When something unexpected happens, crews can get tunnel vision and miss other hazards. That’s why we emphasize quick safety pauses and discussions every time a task changes. Resetting focus helps prevent mistakes when routines are disrupted.

HOW HAS GOOD SAFETY TRAINING IMPACTED RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION OF YOUR CREWS?
Strong safety training builds confidence and shows crews the company genuinely cares. When people feel supported, they stay longer and encourage others to join us. We also blend leadership skills into our training, helping crews grow personally while strengthening our overall safety culture.
