WHAT ALL GOES INTO A QUALITY GRAVEL PACK CHECKLIST?
A quality gravel pack checklist should include four key items to review with your supplier: product cleanliness, quality-controlled testing procedures, physical and chemical analyses, and storage/packaging options.

BIGGEST TAKEAWAY FROM YOUR GROUNDWATER WEEK 2023 WORKSHOP ON SIEVE ANALYSIS?
Many listeners approached me after the presentation to discuss how to interpret sieve analysis charts. They asked about differences between similar product gradation names and how they appear on charts. The discussion seemed especially valuable for drillers, highlighting the importance of clarity in product specification and data interpretation.

MOST COMMON QUESTION YOU GET FROM CONTRACTORS?
A typical question I get is, “What’s the difference between your gravel compared to another vendor’s?” I typically show them our physical and chemical properties sheet and discuss the primary attributes our gravel has which are naturally present in the deposit we mine from.

WHY COMBINE FILTER SAND AND GLASS BEADS TO MAKE UP YOUR NEW RAPTOR FILTER HYBRID?
Conversations with contractors and hydrogeologists revealed a market need for customizable gravel pack materials—both in size and grain distribution—while maintaining high SiO₂ [silicon dioxide] content. By blending our Raptor Filter Sand with NSF-approved Raptor Filter Beads, we can meet nearly any requested gradation based on customer specifications.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE INDUSTRY’S RESPONSE TO USING RAPTOR FILTER HYBRID?
Most professionals have been receptive to the new product line. We believe Raptor Filter Hybrid presents low risk for clients, as both Raptor Filter Sand and glass beads have long standing and proven performance in the industry, providing confidence in the reliability of this blended solution.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE OF GRAVEL PACK OPTIONS LOOK LIKE?
Traditional qualified sand and gravel will always have a place in the industry. However, we believe demand will grow for higher quality, engineered gravel pack solutions.
