THE BEST ADVICE I EVER GOT?
Nothing stands out. The best advice I never got was going into business for myself. I decided to and I have never regretted it.

ON MY DESK RIGHT NOW?
A list of government regulations I would like the new President to repeal. The removal of two government regulations for every new one imposed is the best idea since sliced bread.

WHEN I WANT TO UNWIND . . .
Usually in the late afternoon after work, I jump in the boat and go for a spin. Unfortunately, this is only available in good weather.

MOST IMPORTANT THING FACING GROUNDWATER PROFESSIONALS?
Our biggest challenge is the long-term decline in the number of wells drilled each year nationwide. We must look for related areas to grow our businesses.

GOOD WELL MAINTENANCE MEANS . . .
Well owners should be aware of any change in the water system operation. Small changes in parameters like the sound of the pump
operation, cycle time, lower pressure, or frequency of operation often are a precursor to an impending problem.

THE MOST DIFFICULT HURDLE REGARDING WELL MAINTENANCE?
It is often difficult to overcome the “out of sight, out of mind” mentality of most well owners. Usually we don’t get the call until they are out of water.

YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCES FOR WELL MAINTENANCE?
My favorite resource for well maintenance is, of course, the Water Well Journal.
