WHAT ARE YOU HEARING MOST FROM YOUR WATER WELL CUSTOMERS?
Customers want reliable and consistent products at the time they need them. Many drilling companies are now much more focused on buying products made in the United States. We’re happy to tell them that we proudly make our rock drilling products in our plant located in Thompson, Connecticut.
WHAT ARE THE GREATEST CHALLENGES FACING ROCK HAMMER AND BITS MANUFACTURERS?
Supply chain and inflation have required juggling increased raw material lead times and cost. While a challenge, we have not strayed from using the best materials and manufacturing processes which are pillars of NUMA’s success for more than 38 years.
FAVORITE PART OF WORKING IN THE WATER WELL MARKET?
It’s the people. Many companies I work with are family owned, and over 20 years with NUMA, I’m now getting to work with the new generation. I’m also fortunate to work for a company like NUMA which is family oriented and cares about its customers and employees.

“Which hammer and bit do you recommend for my project?” To find the best solution, we work with our customers to understand the full picture of their equipment or project—including the type of application, hole size, formation, depth, etc.
WHICH DRILLING PRODUCTS ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT IN 2024?
I’m always excited about NUMA’s Super Jaws Overburden Bits. I never get tired of hearing a customer tell me how easy it is to operate and how much time the product has saved while setting casing.
