NGWA Director of Publications and Water Well Journal Editor Thad Plumley has been voted to the AM&P Network Associations Council Advisory Board’s Executive Committee.

The AM&P Network is a national association for publishing professionals and its Associations Council is the section dedicated to those working in the association media space. The advisory board provides the strategic direction for the council’s programming, benefits, member magazine, and learning events.

The board was announced at an AM&P Network Amplify conference June 22-23 in Washington, D.C. Plumley was elected as the board secretary for the 2022-2023 term. This puts him on track to become the board president in 2024-2025.

The group was founded in 1963 as the Society of National Association Publications and became Association Media & Publishing in 2009. It expanded by joining the Specialized Information Industry and Associations (SIIA) in 2017 and rebranded to the AM&P Network in 2021 when other publishing sectors were brought in as well.

Plumley joined NGWA in 2000 and has served as its director of publications since 2004. He is a long-time member and volunteer for the AM&P Network.

NGWA’s publications have won numerous awards under his guidance. At the Amplify event, Plumley’s Editor’s Note from the November 2021 WWJ issue, “The Right Description,” won an Excel Silver Award in the Magazines: Column category. The Excel Awards are the most prestigious program recognizing excellence in association media, publishing, marketing, and communication.
